You have no laws against cheating within a relationship. In the West. The dirty cheater always has a reason - and conveniently confuses a reason with an excuse. They are different things, darling.
Cheating within a relationship is not a crime which can be brought before a court, and once proven beyond doubt, punished publicly. Cheating is not thought of as a crime by the cheating girlfriend, or the cheating husband. And that has an effect. An enormous effect. It says a lot about you and your mongrel tribe.
M. was making his way home. A policeman walked ahead of him; that was fine by him. A girl ran across the road and stopped the policeman; they blocked the pavement and soon behind M. a build-up of people waited before trying to get round. You couldn't help overhearing.
The girl got the cop to arrest a man, unnoticed thus far, who had been staring into a shop-window a little way down the road. Even if you weren't tarrying there to get the end of the story, you couldn't help overhearing the loud protest of the girl, and the quick but calmer words of the window-man. The fellow was employed to remind her daily of her cheating acts. He was doing his job. Employed by a group of men she'd cheated-on, or deceived. He followed her everywhere.
The man was hauled off to the station; but on the way he managed to hail a couple who clearly knew him, and they must have phoned others for by the time all of us got to the station there was quite a group stepping right into the police-office eager to battle it out.
