Selfish Or Self-Centred? They Are Different.

For the love of . . . will you pur-lease grasp the meaning of the words before they come out of your mouths. Separate 'selfishness' from 'self-centredness'. 

It's been suggested (Robert Musil) that 'selfishness' be a state of 'always looking out for its own advantage'; and that leaves room for 'self-centredness' to be, perhaps, nothing at all related to advantage, and to be rather a state of being always engrossed in itself.
